Virginia Beach 

Virginia Aquarium

The aquarium will open to the public once again on July 19th. Online reservations will be required along with face coverings for ages 10 plus. Guests will be able to pass through the aquarium using a one-way path that encourages social distancing. For all information regarding new guidelines or ticketing, visit their website here

Virginia MOCA

New hours: 

  • Thursdays: 10 am – 4 pm

  • Fridays: 9 am – 1 pm (First hour is reserved for patrons 60+)

  • Saturdays: 9 am – 1 pm (First hour is reserved for patrons 60+)

  • Sundays: 1 pm – 4 pm

The Virginia Museum of Contemporary Arts will open back up to the public on July 11th. You and your family can start reserving tickets for a day at the museum as early as July 8th. There will be some changes in operation due to social distancing guidelines and preventative measures that will be taken for safety, you can read about the new guidelines here

Chesapeake

Great Dismal Swamp Canal Trail 

If you’re wanting to get outdoors, this trail is a great option for the whole family to enjoy. You can choose from biking, running, walking, horseback riding, and boating along the trail. The trail is marked every ¼ mile, if you’re feeling adventurous, take the whole 16-mile bike loop or, take a shorter up and back walk. Learn more about the trail here.

Peach Picking at Greenbrier Farms

Greenbrier Farms has one of the area’s only peach orchards in southeast Virginia! With several varieties of different peaches, you’ll have so many delicious options. June is the start of peach season, so be sure to visit soon! For more information on availability, visit their Facebook page here.  

Norfolk

Botanical Garden Bike Nights

Now - October, 4 pm- 7 pm daily 

Bring your bike down and explore the beautiful scenery of the botanical gardens from 4 pm to 7 pm daily! There are about seven miles of paved pathways throughout the gardens to enjoy.  Bike rides are free with admission and tickets can be purchased in advance online, no contact needed! Chrysler Museum of Art


Tuesday - Saturday 10 am -5 pm, Sunday noon- 5 pm


The Chrysler Museum and Glass Studio are set to reopen their doors on June 20th! Timed tickets will be required to enter the museum and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am - 11:30 am will be reserved for visitors over 60 and those at a higher risk for illness. Although the Wisteria Cafe dining room will be closed, there will be select grab and go food items available. Guests can also bring food to enjoy outside in Huber Court or in the gardens. Virginia Zoo

Thursday - Monday 10 am - 5 pm

The zoo plans to open it’s doors back up to the public beginning June 25th. During the first phase of reopening, there will be quite a few changes to operations guests will have to adhere to. Tickets will need to be purchased and reserved in advance between the hours of 10 am and 3 pm Thursday through Monday. For all information about the Zoo’s reopening, visit their website here. 

Portsmouth

Old Towne Farmer’s Market

Saturdays from 10 am - 1 pm

The Old Towner Farmer’s Market is held at St. John’s Episcopal Church every Saturday until further notices. Come support local farmers and purchase delicious fresh produce and browse through local goods. For updates and more information, check this link
