Close your eyes and imagine a life so full and so rich, that you didn’t mind turning away business that simply wasn’t a good fit for you. David Knox of David Knox Productions, Inc. really gave our agents something to think about during September’s business meeting at the Waterside Marriott, and offered dozens of actionable takeaways to keep everyone inspired long after he left.

The bulk of David’s presentation focused on leads: how to get them, how to fight through any fear, and how much of a difference it all truly makes in the end. He said, “If you’re in the business of real estate, you have to have thick skin. The only other industries with this much rejection are politics and show business.” With that quote in mind, he stressed the importance

Katie Lance, a nationally renowned speaker, gave her #GetSocialSmart presentation to the TREG agents yesterday at The Westin in Virginia Beach, at the monthly business meeting. Her topic was helping agents to hone their social media marketing skills, but her advice is valuable to anyone looking to refine their brand and further their social media reach.

“I love this industry [real estate]. It’s a people business. But as much as I love social media, it will never replace this, the face-to-face interaction,” Lance said.

One phrase she mentioned a few times was to take the online, offline. Her comparison to this was wishing Happy Birthday on a Facebook page. There might be 50 people who do that, but only 1 or 2 people might take the time to send a

Joe Niego, a top producing REALTOR® and former NBA player, spoke at the TREG agents business meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 26, 2017, at The Westin Town Center in Virginia Beach. His topic was how to create instant inventory and teach agents how they can generate three additional listings per month. His advice can also be used by almost anyone in the sales industry.

He said to do more business next year than this year; you have to focus on lead generation. “Why someone is successful in real estate is 85 percent the ability to generate a lead,” Niego said, “And 15 percent is technology knowledge, all the stuff you learned in real estate school and never used.”

The best quality lead an agent can get is a referral from a past client. “Most agents

We want to send a very special, “Thank You,” to everyone who joined us at our School Supply Drive and Teacher Appreciation Night at Harbor Park on Saturday, June 3. The agents of The Real Estate Group, their clients, family, and friends, as well as our sponsor, Southern Bank, all rallied together to help make a difference for many Hampton Roads children.

By joining us for a fun night of baseball and donating school supplies, we were able to make a large contribution to our wonderful beneficiary program, Project Hope, a fantastic year-round organization. This year, TREG collected more than 22 boxes of school supplies, which surpassed last year’s contribution. We have posted pictures of the drive and the game on our Facebook page.

Every day, U.S. military members around the world defend freedoms we often take for granted. But when their time serving our country comes to an end, these freedoms can become their greatest challenge.

Finding employment and a place to call home is no easy task for the thousands of veterans who transition back into civilian life each year. That’s why Veterans United Home Loans, the nation’s leading VA purchase lender, decided to create a list of veteran-friendly cities to help these individuals narrow down their house-hunting search. Because when it comes to finding a job and a place to live, some cities may provide a better

Marki Lemons-Ryhal, a nationally known Social Media Speaker and Facebook Live Host, spoke at the TREG agents' business meeting on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at Springhill Suites in Norfolk, VA. Her topic was Facebook Live for REALTORS®, but her advice can be used by anyone looking to refine their brand and further their social media reach.

Live lets people, public figures and pages share live video with their followers and friends on Facebook. People spend more than three times more time watching a Facebook Live video, on average, compared to a video that is no longer live.

Lemons-Ryhal said by getting involved with an online audience through Facebook Live, “You’re broadcasting to the largest audience in the world with the camera in your pocket.

The Real Estate Group was out in force with associates gathering their families together for a fun evening of holiday festivities at the 2016 Grand Illumination Parade in Downtown Norfolk. This past Saturday we enjoyed a rather warm and sunny day that turned into a cold and breezy evening that felt just right for celebrating the kick-off to the holiday season.

Last year, TREG had the honor of debuting the Blue Angels balloon in the Grand Illumination Parade, and the crowd response was fantastic. This year was no different. The love for the military community was alive and well with all the bundled up families cheering, clapping, and waving from the sidewalks as the giant blue jet was expertly guided by our very own agents.

Every year Harbor Park hosts Teacher Appreciation Night, a game to honor the educators who make a difference in Hampton Roads. This year, TREG and our co-sponsor Southern Bank have teamed up to make it a night to celebrate!

We ran a great contest to put #TeachersintheBleachers! We asked our agents and the community at large to tag and nominate the awesome teachers that they know to win four packs of tickets and a chance to be chosen to throw our first pitch. To thank everyone who nominated a teacher, we entered them into a drawing for Busch Gardens Summer Fun passes.

We want to thank all the Southern Bank members, TREG agents, the residents of Hampton Roads, and even other teachers who all tagged educators and helped spread the word! We were
