How to Create a Home That Helps You Feel Re-energized

Sometimes, we all need a little time to ourselves to re-charge. It could be that your job has been busier than normal, or maybe everyday life is just taking over and you’re feeling a little uninspired. It can be true that reorganizing around the home and switching up your daily routine can help with that. Here are some ideas that may work for you!

Invite fun into your home

Make sure you have space in your home for the things you enjoy! As we go about everyday life, it can be easy to come home after a long day at work and simply lounge around until it’s time for bed. We forget that our homes can be a source of enjoyment and activity as well. Whether it’s getting the kids together to play some games in the backyard, trying a new at-home workout, or cooking up a new recipe you’ve been eyeballing, you’ll feel much better putting in the effort to do something you like.

Make resting spaces

A little afternoon nap can be good for your health. Creating a space where you can unwind and take a break will be very beneficial to you. Your version of this could easily be a big, cozy chair to read on, or even a nook with a soft couch, book table, and footrest to aid in your relaxation. We all need a little sanctuary outside of our bedrooms where we can take a moment to breathe and refocus.

Find a hobby to enjoy at home

Finding a new fun hobby can help occupy our minds, in a good way! Sure, you may already be a very busy person, but you really can get more energy by doing more - especially if it’s something you have an interest in. If you’ve always wanted to try gardening, create a small outdoor garden plot to get you started. Or maybe you’re crafty and want to start sewing, dedicate a spare bedroom or nook into a sewing room. Learning something new and gaining new skills will help spark your passion.

Create the right color palette

If you want to make your work from home space, common area, or comfy resting nook more inviting, you’ll want to set the mood by picking a relaxing color palette. If the goal is to slow down and unwind, you’ll want to choose soft colors and include cozy items like throw blankets, pillows, and an ottoman to prop up feet. Need to draw in your focus for a project you’re working on at home? Include a desk area that easily fits all of your important items and a comfortable chair that will keep you upright and supported. Make sure to avoid bright distracting colors and patterns.
