Nine times out of 10, if there’s a fire truck in your neighborhood, there is cause for alarm. But when it’s that remaining 10% chance and Edmarc is involved, it’s time to hug your family a little tighter and smile.

A fire truck escorting a big bus into a neighborhood is the last phase of the Movies With Santa operation. After all the toys are generously donated, they are packed up and brought to Edmarc. Edmarc then goes and separates the toys by each family’s wish list, plans the routes to deliver all the toys, and more importantly, aims to bring a little Christmas joy to these families who are dealing with so, so much.

The planning and coordination to get this accomplished is impressive, especially because it involves over 60 stops.

If you’ve ever come across a wounded wild animal, you might not have known what to do with it. Thanks to Sacred Friends, Inc. in Norfolk, you don’t have to wonder any longer.

Founded in 2012 by Jim and Pearl Beamer, Sacred Friends, Inc. is more than a wildlife rehabilitation and education center.

According to their website, “Native American Culture has always played a large role in what we do. We follow many of the cultural practices in our rescues and rehabilitation and honor the animals the same way that natives have honored them for centuries. We specialize in raptors, water birds (loons, herons, pelicans, egrets) but will not turn anything away. Our service area is primarily the Tidewater (Hampton, Norfolk, Virginia Beach, Portsmouth,

On Saturday, Dec. 2, TREG had another fantastic event with our fourth annual, “Movies with Santa,” in support of EDMARC Hospice for Children. Once again, so many incredible individuals and businesses came together at Columbus Regal Cinema in Virginia Beach, to help make the holidays a little brighter for the patients and families receiving care from EDMARC.

Everyone brought gifts for EDMARC Hospice for Children and enjoyed telling Santa or Mrs. Claus what they wanted for Christmas, grabbing a candy cane and a photo. After their pictures, there were snacks to be enjoyed and movies to be watched!

Here at TREG, we kick off the holiday season with this yearly event. There's no better way to find your holiday spirit, than by giving back to the

Once again, The Real Estate Group, its associates and their families participated in the 2017 Grand Illumination Parade in Downtown Norfolk this last Saturday. As anyone that’s lived in Norfolk during this time of year, the Grand Illumination Parade and the lighting of the buildings mark the start of the local holiday season.

This year, TREG again had the honor of walking the Blue Angels balloon in the 33rd annual parade, and the crowd response was fantastic. The love for the military community was alive and well with all the bundled up families cheering, clapping, and waving from the sidewalks as the giant blue jet was expertly guided by our very own agents, staff members and their family members.

For more than 30 years, families have gathered

Thanksgiving is about being thankful for your family and friends. That thankfulness is even better when you're able to spend the holiday with them. But sometimes, because of work schedules, the cost to travel or even the distance from home, not everyone can spend the holidays with their families. This concept isn’t new to our local military members.

To make up for their possible lack of family, many service members celebrate, “Friendsgiving.” The term is popular among people, like them, who celebrate the holiday with friends instead of family.

Here in Hampton Roads, we have every branch of the military represented. How many of us know someone in the military, with whom we’re already friends? If you have the space for an extra person or two at your

Just over a month ago, we posted some ways to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Now, we’re back to talk about Hurricanes Irma and Maria relief efforts.

Watching the news about the destruction can leave people feeling helpless. This article, posted by WVEC Channel 13 in Hampton Roads, remains timely for Irma and Maria donations. TREG has compiled a list of legitimate organizations, which are responding to Hurricanes Irma and Maria, and providing relief.

Hurricane Irma Relief

When Irma made landfall in Florida on Cudjoe Key on Saturday, Sept. 10, it did so as a Category 3 hurricane. The death toll in Florida was 58 people. For just Florida and its residents so far, it’s estimated that 32 state agencies reported spending more than

Friday, Sept. 15 is National POW/MIA Recognition Day. This annual event, honoring our missing service members and their families, shouldn't be a day for only for our military communities, but it should also be recognized by our civilian communities as well. It highlights the government’s commitment to account for those missing service members. America’s POW/MIAs should be honored and recognized, rather than memorialized, with the focus on the continuing commitment to account for those still missing.

Support for these missing Americans and their families is strong. In Hampton Roads, our military’s presence is strongly felt, woven into our daily lives. "The total Department of Defense population, including active duty and civilian personnel

When Harvey made landfall in Texas on Friday, Aug. 24, it did so as a Category 4 hurricane, bringing with it catastrophic downpours of more than 11 trillion gallons of rain.

It’s now known as the most powerful hurricane to hit Texas in more than 50 years, killing at least 17 people and forcing 30,000 people to flee to emergency shelters. For just southeast Texas and her residents so far, it’s estimated the economic cost from Harvey will be $51-$75 billion.

Today, Harvey made landfall again in Louisiana as a tropical storm, and more damage possibly on the way.

Watching the news about the destruction can leave a person outside the area feeling helpless. The Real Estate Group has compiled a list of legitimate organizations, which are responding to

We want to send a very special, “Thank You,” to everyone who joined us at our School Supply Drive and Teacher Appreciation Night at Harbor Park on Saturday, June 3. The agents of The Real Estate Group, their clients, family, and friends, as well as our sponsor, Southern Bank, all rallied together to help make a difference for many Hampton Roads children.

By joining us for a fun night of baseball and donating school supplies, we were able to make a large contribution to our wonderful beneficiary program, Project Hope, a fantastic year-round organization. This year, TREG collected more than 22 boxes of school supplies, which surpassed last year’s contribution. We have posted pictures of the drive and the game on our Facebook page.
