Father’s Day is practically here! This Sunday is all about celebrating the special father figures in our lives. Of course this year, Father’s Day may be slightly different because of social distancing, but there are still ways to spend time with dad while staying safe. From knowing when it’s time to cheer us up with one of his classic jokes, to being your own personal life coach, there are countless reasons why we celebrate dad! If you still need plans for Father’s day, here are some suggestions to help get your creativity flowing.
Cook (or order) his favorite brunch
What better way to begin the day than to wake up to a delicious spread of brunch food? Whip of some of dad’s favorite brunch entrees, pancakes, eggs, bacon, etc., and arrange a nice display on a decorated table. Set out whichever utensils he’ll need to eat or serve himself with, and ta-dah! You’ve created a makeshift breakfast buffet. Alternatively, you can order take out from one of his favorite brunch spots. If you’re getting together with dad, order for the both of you and enjoy eating at home together. If you decide to play it safe, arrange a contactless drop-off to dad’s house. And because he’ll want to hear from you, don’t forget to leave him a card or note with a special Father’s day message!
There haven’t been many opportunities to get outside lately, give dad a change of scenery and spend a day outdoors! Luckily, we live in an area with plenty of outdoor options to choose from. Take a trip to a favorite local beach, walk or bike ride through a beautiful nature trail, or even visit a state park. You’ll both enjoy spending time with each other and getting some much needed fresh air.
Organize a day at dad’s favorite local golf course. Not only will you get to spend some time outdoors, you’ll get to watch him do something he absolutely loves. Make sure to pack some snacks that’ll last through the 18th hole!
If dad would prefer a little rest and relaxation this Father’s Day, that works too! A movie night is a perfect way to spend some time together and unwind in the comfort of home. Get a line up of all dad’s favorite movies, snacks, and drinks and prepare for the perfect night in.
Regardless of how you end up spending Father’s Day, we’re sure dad will simply appreciate hearing from you or getting to spend some time together!Let us know how you’re making Father’s Day special this year, comment below! Thinking about buying your new home this summer? Start your search with us!
