Summer is a great time to explore the region we live in. Colonial Williamsburg is offering a FREE one-day ticket to all of its attractions and museums during the week of August 7-14, 2015.
Residents of Hampton Roads (and beyond- see the full list here) are eligible for a free day pass. Simply click HERE to access the information site. Download the resident form and bring it, with proof of address, to the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center to get your same day pass. Service members are also welcome with a military ID and a piece of mail that verifies a local address.
Williamsburg offers something for the whole family. Walk around and check out the “Revolutionary City” where you can interact with residents, watch demos on trades like blacksmithing, and really get a sense for what life was like. Tours, both guided and self-guided can help you understand history and culture in the colonial city.
The DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum and the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum showcase amazing pieces. Shopping and dining are also popular attractions in and around Colonial Williamsburg.
To make the most of your day in Colonial Williamsburg, download the free app for Android or Apple. With turn-by-turn directions, interactive maps, and a calendar of events, it is the perfect meeting of the past, present, and future.
Colonial Williamsburg strives to bring history to life, and this deal will be history soon so make sure to take advantage and explore!
