Every year Harbor Park hosts Teacher Appreciation Night, a game to honor the educators who make a difference in Hampton Roads. This year, TREG and our co-sponsor Southern Bank have teamed up to make it a night to celebrate!

We ran a great contest to put #TeachersintheBleachers! We asked our agents and the community at large to tag and nominate the awesome teachers that they know to win four packs of tickets and a chance to be chosen to throw our first pitch. To thank everyone who nominated a teacher, we entered them into a drawing for Busch Gardens Summer Fun passes.

Trying to pick a handful of locally owned restaurants to showcase in Virginia Beach is a daunting task. We asked around and ended up with a really long list, and for no particular reason (other than loving these places) we made a short list of five restaurants you shouldn’t miss in VB. There are so much more, we might have to revisit Virginia Beach food hot spots sooner than later, but it’s a start!

Gardening, like all other home decorating areas, has trends that seem to change every year. If you could sum it all up for 2016, the best way to describe it would be color and texture.

Garden Design Magazine says that the biggest trends this year are creating drama with color and blurring the line between outdoor and indoor living. Container gardening is a trend that is still going strong, but GDM suggests mixing herbs, food, and flowers into beautiful colorful containers with varying texture. They also highlight the newest of edibles like tomatoes that come in new, more compact varieties that can be grown indoors or out.

  Despite the longest stretch of springtime rain we can recall, we are still huge fans of living in Hampton Roads. It’s hard not to feel lucky living in such an amazingly central area with so many awesome things to see and do.    We also start to get the itch (regardless of Seattle-like weather) to get out and explore.
