  For locals in the know, the Grand Illumination Parade in Norfolk, VA is the kick off of the holiday festivities around Hampton Roads. The excitement is electric, literally and figuratively, as they power the lights that travel the angles of the Norfolk skyline and start the famous parade to help celebrate it all.   This year was the 31st Grand Illumination and over 70 groups provided fun and entertainment along a two-mile parade route through the heart of the city.   Thanksgiving is the time of year when we express our gratitude for all the important things, and people, in our lives. Gathering for a huge meal with family and friends is the best part of the day, but making a huge meal can mean a few challenges as well.
