If your kids love the Virginia Zoo in Norfolk AND are really excited about wearing their Halloween costumes as soon as possible (parents, you know they are), why not take them to ZooBoo this Saturday? There will be not one, but two costume contests during ZooBoo’s Family Fun Day: one in the morning, and one in the afternoon. There will also be a haunted hayride, the ZooBoo Choo-Choo, candy stations (of course), and animal pumpkin smashing during the daytime hours. Once the evening kicks in, the adults and older kids can take part in Fright Night, complete with a Train of Terror!

For more information, ticket prices, and directions, visit the ZooBoo website.

The month of October is filled with pumpkins and spider webs, ghosts and goblins everywhere you look. If you’re looking for a fun place to find all of the above and enjoy it with the kids, check out the Halloween activities at Hunt Club Farm at 2388 London Bridge Road in Virginia Beach!

Every evening from now through October 31st, they offer a Haunted Hayride, a Village of the Dead, and a corn Field of Screams for those who are into the Halloween spirit. For those who are feeling more low-key, there are always pumpkins, gourds, and other harvest items to peruse for purchase. They’re holding special events on various evenings throughout the month of October, and their Fall Harvest Fair takes place every weekend day from 10 am – 6pm through Halloween.

Costumed characters wander through the area, posing for pictures and delighting children with their presence. Interactive activities abound, as well as displays, an animal alley, and cultural experiences, and there’s no shortage of
